Mercedes' community office has successfully served tens of thousands of constituents, one of highest rates in all of New York City.
-Weekly food giveaways have provided hot food and groceries to thousands of residents.
-Community office offers free weekly legal consultations and access to immigration attorneys.
-Hosted numerous community events,
including the annual health fair, holiday toy giveaways, turkey giveaways, back-to-school events, informational workshops at the office to assist constituents, and much more.

Delivering for us
This is just some of the funding Mercedes has delivered for our district:
✓ Created citywide initiative allocating $450,000 to recruit a younger and more diverse group of New Yorkers to work as nurses and social workers, especially within the field of mental health.
✓ Secured over $300,000 funded for
supplemental sanitation in our community, including daily sweeping crews and installation of cameras to catch people who dump trash on our streets.
✓ $1.6 Stop Gun Violence, Cure Violence Initiative in Canarsie, 69th Precinct
✓ $600k to Millennium Development for
programming (senior centers/after-school)
